Think, Act, Prosper: 20 Ways to Go Green That Make a Difference

My other blog is Think, Act, Prosper.  The topic is environmental concerns and discussions of how to go green and live in sync with environmentally friendly practices.  The name of the blog is a very accurate representation of the philosophy.  It is incredibly important to think before acting, as if you don't then you are simply reacting.  By thinking, we can consider multiple strategies or methods to accomplish something.  After thinking about a topic or idea, we can then act in accordance with these plans.  Finally, if we think through problems, then act accordingly, we are certain to prosper.  Prosperity is the goal of every human, and without thinking before acting, especially in regards to how we interact with the environment, this will not happen.

In September 2011, I penned a list of 20 Ways to Go Green That Make a Difference. This list was supposed to be 20 ways that people could effectively make changes that would have an impact.  There are many ways to go green which barely make an impact on the grand scale of things, but these changes were targeted because they require small time and money investments, but pay large dividends, to use a financial metaphor.  I have finally completed this list with 20 blog posts on the various topics. Please check it out below.

Heavy Tweed Jacket - Available for limited time

Heavy Tweed Jacket is a one man blog who employs a unique strategy of posting fairly regularly for a month or two, then going dark for 6 months, leaving no trace of the traddy menswear blog.  His archive of trad catelogs (and Grateful Dead mixtapes) is quite impressive, and I am sure he will send the Vintage Brooks Brothers ebay market up more than a couple basis points!

Me Gusta Mister Mort

He is the love of the blog world lately, I mean he is literally all over the place. Not my first and probably not my last time complementing him.

His keys to success are not entirely unique, but definitely well executed

1) Take Sartorialist style photos of hipsters/cool guys around the world wearing vintage clothing
via the Sartorialist

2) Run with PR machine Michael Williams and the ACL/Pop Up Flea crew, I don't have any repsect for a guy who uses his blog as a business to promote the highest bidder, at least call a shill a shill, I really hope nobody believes this guy is unbiased... back to the topic at hand

Mort and the A Continiuous Loser

3) Develop and sell related products (neck wear, braces, hats and hopefully more accessories coming soon)

Dark and Stormy hat will keep me hoping for warmer days with Gosling Black Seal and Barritt's Ginger Beer when Summer rolls back around

Along the way it helps to do a lot of guest posts, have a quality Twitter account, garner some glowing praise (see #2) and last but certainly not least, practice what you preach and get photographed rocking the finest blue-collar-at-white-collar-price-heritage-American-clothing

hats off to you Mister Mordechai Rubenstein!

PS: Grew up in Providence, RI huh? I am living on Blackstone Boulevard on the East Side currently!
