Supreme x Comme des Garcons

Supreme released a collaboration today with Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garcons.  The collab consists of a shirt, camp cap, hoodie, box logo tee, and two styles of Vans.  The shirts and camp caps use a university stripe fabric design, complete with the usual CDG tweaks.  The box logos are all done backwards for this collection.  The tee and hoodie are polka dotted with the famous Supreme box logo.  The collection was released at retail outlets today, including online where I was able to snag a box logo tee.  I put it up on Ebay right away for an absurd asking price and was able to sell it rather quickly.  Did some quick research on the buyer, and they are a close relative of someone who is extremely famous.  Let's just say the shipping address is a $60,000,000 villa in Beverly Hills, pretty amazing.  Check out the pictures below.

Superbowl

What a tough pill to swallow.  The Superbowl was a great show.  As predicted the under came in, with a lot of room to spare, and the line actually went down to 53 at kickoff.  Unfortunately, the New York Football Giants were crowned champions once again.  Eli Manning led a late 4th quarter drive and ended up scoring with 57 seconds remaining on the clock.  They timed this perfectly, and 57 seconds was just not enough time for Brady & Co. to score. 

Madonna's halftime performance was well-received by the women that I watched the game with, and I honestly did not pay attention to the ads, which were fairly star-studded.  The Giants sacked Brady right at the beginning causing a safety, which is extremely rare, and I am sure hurt the Nevada and offshore sportsbooks, who offer odds in the range of 9 to 1. 

I would have written a lot more if the Patriots won, but I am still feeling kind of sick from the 12 beers and 20 wings I ate last night.  Congrats Giants.

Sixpoint Autumnation Review

Sixpoint is an awesome brewery based in New York City.  I had tasted their stuff several years ago when I was in the city, since they were draft only at the time.  This past year they began to start selling their beer outside of the home NYC market.  I am lucky enough to live in one of the regions where they began distributing, and I have tasted all of their beers so far.  One of the things I like about the brewery is that they sell all their beer in 16oz cans in 4pks.  I like this better than a 12oz bottle 6pk by a significant margin.  I sometimes feel like 12oz is too little and 22oz is too much, and 16oz is perfect.  Cans are far superior to bottles, praying this continues to catch on. 

This beer is extremely unique.  It is a wet-hopped pumpkin beer.  I barely detected pumpkin, although there is a good amount of ginger and spices.  These all take a back seat to the glorious hops.  The beer is grassy, green, and delicious, using freshly harvested hops added directly to the boil.  The result is a "Fall IPA" beer that is incredibly "fresh" taking and drinkable.  I do think this beer is polarizing, and there will be people who either like it, or strongly dislike it, not much in between.   Available for only a short time, due to limited availability of the hops.  I am looking forward to their next release, Diesel, and apparently a Saison is in future developments.

Supreme x Levis

Supreme is one of my favorite clothing brands, I used to skateboard when I was younger, and for this reason I definitely vibe with their styling.  Levi's is an American classic and Supreme teamed up with them to produce two dope jackets, a pair of chambray shirts, a vest, and a some jeans.  I really appreciate that Levi's decided to make these products at home in the USA.  The star detail on the jeans will mean that I am definitely not buying them, but I do love the 505 cut.  My favorite piece is the canvas jacket, and I will consider picking it up if the price is reasonable.
